HM Trawler Remindo, like many other trawlers from the fishing fleet, was requisitioned during the war to act as an anti-submarine vessel. On 2nd February, 1918 she sank after an explosion in the English Channel off Portland. There is some confusion regarding the fate of this ship as the Germans claim that it was torpedoed by their submarine UC-79, on the French side of the  Channel. Nineteen members of her crew lost their lives in this incident, including Brian Boseley.
